Why invest in Montenegro

Lord Byron once wrote:
" At the birth of our planet, the most beautiful encounter between the land and the sea must have happened at the coast of Montenegro..."

Montenegro has the potential to develop the agribusiness sector. Due to its geographical position with direct access to the sea, it could become an important traffic and energy node. Montenegro has significant quantities of coal, bauxite and lead-zinc ore. Of the non-ferrous metal ores, red bauxite in the vicinity of Nikšić is the most exploited. As far as the non-metallic ores are concerned, the earth is rich in building and decorative stone, gravel, sand, cement marl. Metallurgy and metal industry are very important for Montenegro because they provide over half of the value of exports. The most important products of these industries are aluminum and steel. Within the light industry, the food and wood industry are especially developed.
The green economy is not only a European brand, but it is also a brand of ecological Montenegro. Small and medium companies form the backbone of future environmental development.
Tourism is an extremely important component of the national economy. Today, directly and indirectly, it makes up over 25% of GDP, and this percentage is expected to continue to grow in the years to come. Although small in territory, Montenegro abounds in natural beauty, historical monuments and sunny weather almost all year round. It is a country full of contrasts. At a distance of only 100 km there are three different natural environments: the coast, the karst region and the region of high mountains. Tourists can swim in the sea, go river rafting, hiking or skiing in the mountains - all in one day. In just an hour’s drive you will cross from the Mediterranean zone to the mountain zone to the ski slopes. Exotic trees grow close to alpine plants.
