The geographical, natural and cultural landscape of Croatia is, after its people, our nation’s greatest asset. Croatia is a country of striking landscapes, diverse regions and a rich tradition that has shaped our national identity for centuries. Today, in a time of global uncertainty and rapid change, we stand before a historic opportunity to transform this natural heritage into a new source of development and to demonstrate to Europe that sustainable growth can be built on healthy food, clean land and responsible stewardship of resources.

The CRO GREEN programme seeks to connect Croatia’s natural advantages with the needs of the modern market, yet its ambition goes far beyond economics. It embodies the vision of a country that protects its soil, safeguards its public goods, strengthens local communities and restores dignity to rural areas. It is a vision of a Croatia that does not deplete its potential, but renews it and transforms it into concrete opportunities.

At the heart of this vision stands the Croatian diaspora, our people who built their lives, careers and families across the world while remaining deeply connected to their homeland. Their experience, work ethic and international knowledge are now the foundation of a strategic turning point. It is clearer than ever that without the diaspora there can be no demographic recovery, no economic renewal and no genuine modernization of Croatia.

By engaging the diaspora, we are building a bridge between Croatia and the world. This strengthens ecological production, but it also creates the conditions for the return of people seeking security, purpose and a chance to invest their experience at home. Every return brings new energy, revitalises communities and restores the belief that Croatia can be a country people come back to, not a country they leave.

The strategy for developing ecological agriculture rests on our natural advantages, but also on innovation and international expertise. Croatia has fertile soil, abundant water, favourable climate conditions and a strong tradition of family farms. Combined with the knowledge of Croatians living in Germany, Austria, Canada, Australia and many other countries, this becomes a model capable of raising the quality of domestic production and improving our position on the demanding European market.

There is no region in Croatia that cannot be part of this transition. Slavonia, Podravina, Međimurje, Zagorje, Banovina, Lika and Dalmatia all carry the potential to become centres of ecological production and sustainable growth. This is why CRO GREEN is not merely an agricultural initiative, but a call for unity, renewal of trust and cooperation between the homeland and its people around the world.

Inspired by successful examples from abroad, we believe that Croatia can set new standards and become a positive model within Europe. This project is dedicated to the generations to come, carrying a clear message that Croatia can be a country of sustainable development, security and hope for all who love it, whether they live within its borders or far beyond them.
